With a new year around the corner The National Restaurant Association has made its predictions for the most prominent menu items for 2016.
Coming in at #10 is house-made artisan ice cream. Ice creams and gelato have consistently been trending for years, and there is no slowing down. The term “artisan” has become broad, but essentially the term is related with a skilled ice cream maker, creating the dessert on location, with great care.
Some other trend thats cracked the top 20 include:

- #6 Environmental sustainability
- #19 Food waste reduction/management
